Hey Guys A lot of great ideas out there. As this is the first year for the MH for us and we are not really savvy about all things mod wise. I know that we will learn more about the MH as we go along. I do believe that all of our holding tanks are buried within the body of the unit and are insulated and heated by the furnace(when we use it). I looked at the ultraheat pads last year when we had the 5th wheel with exposed tanks but never bought any. I think that in order to use them on our rig would mean major problems with the install. I am not that small or that flexible anymore and with my bad left wing this year I think that addition will have to wait. I am interested in Shums use of fresh water and maybe will check it out later if you are at MAC at all. Keep the ideas and experience coming though as this is how we all learn.
All the Best

A thought.

What dies everyone do with the outside shower? Given the fact that most of theese I have seen are just plastic hosuings with ZERO insalation, freezing would be almost instant.
You just leave the pink in them? I assume if you don't turn them on, the pink in the feed lines would just stay in there, right?

I pulled my feed lines off the o/s shower and capped them, I'd like to make a bypass for them, but just haven't come across the correct fittings to do so.

I pump pink through the shower and then pull the hose and shower head off and put away for the winter. The back of the outside shower is under the cabinet in my bathroom covered in reflectix and the shower compartment is filled with some foam that I have hanging around. That's it, that's all I've ever done and not had any issues.

Well dealing with mine in the Summerland is easy, I don't have 1  However I did have one in my Sun Valley and like Shum once I winterized it I removed the shower head and lined the cavity with insulation. Of course I didn't end up doing much winter camping in the Sun Valley, but if I had I would have left it that way.

I'm not sure if we covered it or not, anyone do anythig special with the dump valve cables?

MOST of my cables are enclosed, but there's about 6" exposed right behind the wheels. YOU KNOW I'm going to have an issue with them getting covered in snow/slush snf freezing.

Shoot some WD-40 up the cables exposed parts :?:

Did the best I could and tried to work the WD up into the shielded part of the cable. We'll see. :)

Don't know how far you've looked into it but in my Outdoorsman I have one of the lines - I have 2 - from the furnace pointing down right onto as far as I can tell, on to the dump valves. So as long as the furnace is running the area should be nice and "warm" relatively speaking. Freezing of this area so far in 2 winters has not been an issue.
